WHY NHCA?
Jeremiah 29:11
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord,
"plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you HOPE
and a future."
"In
1995 I began to home school my daughter, who was then in 8th grade.
Every family who chooses home schooling generally has strong reasons
for selecting this path. For us, we believed strongly that our
daughter would benefit from a Christ-centered education and also
from individualized attention that would adapt naturally to her
learning style.
The following
year, thanks to our success and happiness with this choice along
with word-of-mouth, I found myself (at that time not a certified
teacher) starting a new school year with five students, and by
January we had six students. When I look back, I see God's
hand strongly at work even then because honestly, I never intended
to expand to a full blown school. I was just trying to do my
best for my child. God obviously had other plans, and it has
often been amazing to us how students find us. One recent
application mentioned a referring couple we've never met or heard of!
Others have told us they were referred by doctors, therapists, and
high school guidance counselors.
By the end of the
second year, we had 15 students and sold our home in order to have a
home that would accommodate a schoolroom for 20 students with a
separate living space for our family. That year we had 18
students, the next year 22, then 29. It was at this point that
God graciously led us to our current facility in Thomasville and
provided a Christian banker who agreed to extend to us a mortgage
and the money that we needed to bring the building up to school
codes. Three years ago I graduated college with my degree in
Interdisciplinary Studies in Education and received my NC teaching
license. My husband, Mike, has just completed his master's
degree in secondary math education. It has been 15 years of continual growth, and
continuing to obediently follow God's leading and walking
victoriously through the doors He has opened for us, our students
and their families.

Comprehensive and
Challenging
We now offer a comprehensive education to students from Kindergarten
through 12th grade, and most of our students go on to attend
college. New Hope Christian Academy provides a school
environment that emphasizes academic excellence as well as Christian
character. An NHCA education is one to be proud of. Our
curriculum is broad and designed to develop students to their full
potential.
Elementary education at NHCA centers on the fundamentals of
reading, writing, and arithmetic, as well as an emphasis on
instilling traditional values such as responsibility, integrity, and
respect; respect for authority and for others.
Secondary students are groomed for college entry, and offered
their choice of standard or distinguished scholar programs.
Importantly, with junior and senior high students, we also stress
development as responsible, respectful, moral young adults. We
strive to teach these students to be independent learners and to
take ownership of their own education.
Why Choose New Hope Christian
Academy?
Simple; we think the New Hope Christian experience is truly
outstanding and second to none. New Hope is fully licensed by
the North Carolina Division of Non-Public Education and we use a
variety of highly respected, widely used curricula aligned to both
State and National Standards of Education. We have a staff of
highly qualified and dedicated professionals, committed to making
each child's educational experience a positive one.
We have families that have driven from as far as Reidsville,
Winston-Salem and Asheboro due to our unique approach and modest
cost. In addition to a commitment to provide the best
education for each individual child, we believe that a private
Christian school education should be attainable to moderate income
families - "regular" people and have prayerfully stewarded the
resources that God has given to us to use and are pleased to offer
an annual tuition of $3500.00.
If you have been praying for a better solution to your child's
education we'd encourage you to get to know us and let us get to
know you. Year after year, we hear from parents about the
positive difference New Hope has made in their child's life, and
even on the family. And, more importantly perhaps, we hear our
former and current students complimenting the school on the
tremendous experience it is and has been for them.
NEW! On-Line Academy and
On-Line Tutoring
About three years ago, God laid a burden on our hearts to reach
more children with a Christian education, yet we felt that He was
not leading us to build a bigger school, but we felt instead
that He wanted us to reach much farther afield than Thomasville or
even the larger Piedmont Triad area of North Carolina.
Through strategic partnership with a nationally standardized
educational company and software acquisitions, we are now able to
offer everything from a full On-Line Academy experience to
individual courses and On-Line Tutoring services in all grade levels
and for a variety of courses. We have now expanded to include
a franchise of our school in San Jose del Cabo, Mexico.
We realized that there are almost no moderately priced Christian
distance learning opportunities and we believe these services will
be in high demand by home schoolers looking to supplement their
curriculum in an engaging and interesting way for their children and
by parents who are fed up with the high prices of franchised
tutoring services that also take your time and gas carting already
educationally overwhelmed children back and forth.
Instead of taking the metered hourly approach of these
franchises, and teachers who tutor on the side, we offer our On-Line
Tutoring service for just $100.00 per course per month with no long
term contracts. Do the math: depending on where you
live, tutoring can cost an average of $20 - $30 per hour. That
same $100 would be gone after just five hours; with the NHCA On-Line
Tutoring service, YOU control how much time your child spends on
their chosen subject.

information. Tutoring must be paid for in advance, using a
major credit card. See our Payments page for more information.
